Too shy to take a compliment

If you are no stranger to tripping over your tongue and burning cheeks, then you are not alone! Too many of us are too shy to even spell the word, and, we should have more features like this that help us develop our positive self-esteem.

Not all shyness are bad thou either in relationships, offices, homes, name it, but when shyness gets in the way of daily life, that’s a problem. Strong-minded people however don’t permit circumstances to dictate to them, they take powerful grasp on the situation they may be in and dictate to the circumstances.

In one hand, some compliments could be a hidden way of making fun on someone, but we should not focus on living negative because we are just as special and blessed. Everybody admires the openhearted, someone who has nothing to hide and who doesn’t try to cover up faults and weaknesses. Hence every time we throw those compliments generously to our colleagues, acquaintances or friends, genuineness would save the day.

Then how do we spare ourselves the burden of blushes?

We need to focus on other people because they may just be as shy. We need to make small talk by not having to say anything shattering, but a simple compliment back and appreciation could be a great start. In-group conversations in wherever you may be, teach yourself to wait for a quiet period then you can step in with a positive remark like “That would be great” and make your own point.

There is only one corner of the universe you can be sure of improving, your own self!

A Chinese proverb reads, ‘You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow (and shyness) from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair’, and how true that is.
